Our Story
Sejakgomo Farm began with a simple but powerful vision: to reconnect Atlanta's urban residents with nature and sustainable food systems. Founded by Mothusi Sejakgomo, our farm emerged from a deep commitment to making environmental stewardship accessible to everyone in our community.
Located in Northwest Atlanta, Sejakgomo Farm serves as more than just a place to grow food—it's a neighborhood hub where community members of all backgrounds and experience levels can engage with nature, learn about urban agriculture, and contribute to real conservation efforts.
Our Mission
We believe that protecting pollinators and building sustainable food systems starts with community. Through accessible drop-in events, hands-on education, and citizen science participation, we empower Atlantans to become active stewards of their local environment.
Community at Our Core
Every census count, every garden bed tended, and every conversation about pollinators strengthens the bonds that hold our neighborhood together. We're not just building a farm—we're cultivating a community of environmental advocates who understand that protecting nature is everyone's responsibility.
"Environmental action doesn't require expertise—it requires heart and community. At Sejakgomo Farm, we provide both."

Our Mission
We're making environmental stewardship achievable for everyone in Atlanta.
Protecting Pollinators Through Community Action
Sejakgomo Farm exists to protect Atlanta's pollinators and educate our community about their critical importance to our food systems and ecosystems. We believe that environmental conservation isn't something that happens somewhere else—it happens right here, in our neighborhoods, with our hands in the soil and our eyes on the bees and butterflies.
Through accessible drop-in citizen science events, hands-on urban farming, and community education, we're building a movement where everyone—regardless of age, background, or experience level—can contribute to real conservation work.
Pollinator Conservation
We host citizen science census counting events that contribute real data to the Great Southeast Pollinator Census, helping scientists understand and protect bee and butterfly populations.
Urban Agriculture Education
We teach community members how to grow food sustainably in urban spaces, connecting people to where their food comes from and building food system resilience.
Community Engagement
We create inclusive, welcoming spaces where neighbors connect over shared environmental values and work together toward a more sustainable future for Atlanta.
What Drives Us
- Accessibility: Environmental action shouldn't require expertise or resources. Our drop-in events are free, require no registration, and welcome everyone from curious kids to experienced gardeners.
- Inclusion: We celebrate the diversity of our community and create space for all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels to participate meaningfully.
- Impact: Every 15-minute pollinator count, every person who learns about conservation, every seed planted matters. We connect individual actions to real, measurable environmental progress.
- Community: We believe change happens together. Sejakgomo Farm is a gathering place where neighbors become friends and friends become environmental stewards.
